I admit it. I am addicted to cartoons. Some friends get really annoyed by the fact that I can watch a cartoon over and over again without ever getting bored. I believe that they are therapeutic. Maybe the kid in me never died or it is just to suppressed that it wants to come out however possible.
I believe the cartoons take the viewer to a new world which has no relation with the one we are living in. Talking furniture, genius animals and exaggerated characters all come together to freeze your thoughts for the duration of the movie. Tom & Jerry never get tired of running. The coyote keeps contemplating only on how to catch the road runner. The target is simple and the road to it is hilarious.
I certainly have a few favorites: Disney’s Aladdin, Emperor’s New Groove and Ice Age. So give it up for the Genie, Iago, Yzma, ChaCha, Sid, Manny and Diego!
