Sgroppino

Sgroppino

I had the pleasure of tasting this Italian cocktail at a restaurant in New York yesterday. We accidentally saw it at a different table and asked the waiter what it was. We were a little hesitant when we fist heard the words “sparkling wine” and “vodka” together, but still gave it a try. It turns out Sgroppino, which means “to untie” is actually a very refreshing summer cocktail. It comes from the Venetian region of Italy and is usually enjoyed as a digestive after dinner.

Ingredients:

1 cup chilled Prosseco

2-4 tablespoons of vodka

1/3 cup frozen lemon sorbet

1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh mint leaves
